Welcome

Do you need someone to talk to? I offer therapeutic conversations centered around presence, acceptance and empathy.

As your therapist I know that choosing therapy takes courage and often a deep longing for change. I acknowledge you and your courage with unconditional respect for your choice to start the journey. A journey that often arises from a sense of doubt and pain, and at times with a sense of having lost direction and control over the next steps forward.

My work is to meet you exactly where you are, also when this may feel unclear to you. I offer a safe and supportive space for you and for what feels difficult. As your therapist, I remain open and curious about you as a person and what you choose to bring into therapy. In the relational process that unfolds between us, you bring the content. The process moves at your pace. Together we will establish a common clarity about what you wish to gain from our time and work together.

Are you an Expat living in Denmark?

How does therapy with me work?

As your therapist I consider myself to be your experiencing and curious travel companion. I follow your pace on the journey. I gently help you to shed light on your inner and outer landscapes and to describe what you see, think, sense and experience. I am with you there and when we explore and ponder over the routes you choose that we should journey together.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in the neuroaffective framework. I hold a humanistic view of life, and therefore my therapeutic methods are primarily based on existential and person-centered therapy.

In practice, this means that in a therapeutic process with me:

· we create a shared understanding and take a concrete starting point in the challenges you are
currently experiencing.

· i support you in exploring your thoughts, emotions, sensations, dreams, and memories in the here and now.

· we explore the past and future only to bring insight and understanding to your lived life today.

A typical therapy session follows no fixed formula, and the purpose is not to lead you to any predetermined destination. Each session unfolds from where you are, with full trust in whatever emerges in the space between us. We give meaningful attention to what arises within you and in what is awakened between us as the relational cues that guide our process. I will mirror you empathically in your experiences. I will sometimes ask questions and at times I may challenge you on your thoughts and what you say. In this way we explore your journey together, but you will remain in charge of the process.

About Psychotherapy

As an existential therapist, I work from the belief that therapy cannot remove the pain we experience or carry within us. Nor can it prevent the doubts we may face in our choices and the responsibility we all hold for our own lives. We cannot prevent the loneliness, anxiety, or insecurity we sometimes feel—within ourselves or in relation to others. It is when these conditions overwhelm us, keep us stuck, and lead us off course away from ourselves, that we might need help and support.
