About psychotherapy

Why Psychotherapy?

As an existential therapist, I work from the belief that therapy cannot remove the pain we experience or carry within us. Nor can it prevent the doubts we may face in our choices and the responsibility we all hold for our own lives. We cannot prevent the loneliness, anxiety, or insecurity we sometimes feel—within ourselves or in relation to others. It is when these conditions overwhelm us, keep us stuck, and lead us off course away from ourselves, that we might need help and support.

What therapy then can do is bring positive change to how we relate to and navigate these universal human conditions by:

· helping you gain deeper insight and self-understanding — both are essential foundations for feeling better and achieving lasting change.

· expanding your inner capacity to hold your life circumstances
through acceptance of what is, while also clarifying and working with your resources and potentials.

· getting closer to and clearer about your personal values, helping you to navigate in new and meaningful directions with greater clarity and integrity.

As your therapist, I can support you in rediscovering and rebuilding the parts of your inner compass that can lead you to greater well-being, calm, and balance.

Who is psychotherapy for?

Therapy may be beneficial for anyone seeking personal growth and greater well-being in life. My clients often find therapy particularly helpful when they experience, for example:

· Relational challenges and unhelpful patterns—in love, friendships, family, or at work

· Anxiety or inner restlessness that becomes overwhelming

· Stress or a sense of being overburdened

· Repetitive negative thoughts and behaviors, including addictive patterns

· Feelings of hopelessness, emptiness, or lack of motivation

· Unexplained or sudden emotional outbursts—such as anger, grief, or sadness

· Difficult life-transitions

· Loss, grief, or trauma that continues to affect you

· Feelings of inadequacy or challenges related to self-worth

· Loneliness and isolation

I am bound by professional confidentiality, and therapy follows the ethical guidelines set by the Danish Psychotherapist Association. I receive ongoing supervision.
